As part of this year’s Agricultural Fair theme, “Agriculture and Technology: An Ideal Mix in 2026,” our 6th graders dove into the exciting world where innovation meets farming. The class recently spent time with Mr. Krigger, our upper school Tech teacher, learning about drone technology, its real-world applications, and how these tools are transforming modern agriculture. After building foundational knowledge, students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences, sparking curiosity and deeper understanding.
Through this project, students discovered how drones are used on farms to monitor crop health, map fields, assess irrigation needs, track livestock, and improve efficiency while reducing environmental impact. They are learning how aerial data helps farmers make smarter decisions—using technology to save time, conserve resources, and increase sustainability. These explorations encourage students to think critically about how technology can solve real-world problems and support food systems of the future.
Don't miss the project poster in our AgFair school booth to learn more about drone farm applications!
